Kalpee is part of a new generation of Caribbean musicians pushing a fresh tropical sound aptly named “New Calypso”. Pulling from his heritage, he delivers a modern fusion of Calypso, dancehall & reggae rhythm, laced with rock inspired guitar riffs, supported by soulful melodies & a captivating r&b vocal delivery. A conflict of genres sonically blended in perfect balance. He has previously released singles with Dancehall Queen SteffLon Don & Jamaican singer Mortimer as well as worked along side an elite line up of Grammy nominated producers & writers. This year Kalpee launched “Island Wave” at SXSW, a platform dedicated to bringing music of the Caribbean to the forefront of the international music scene. As we anticipate the release of his debut album later this year and as he continues to explore his New Calypso sound and pursue his projects with intentional passion, this deft Musician, singer, songwriter, producer is very much affirming his position as an artist to watch in 2022!
