Dike Samai is a Trinidadian film, television, and video game music composer, orchestrator, arranger, actor, performer, educator, and pannist. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree with upper second-class honors from the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine, and a Certificate in Orchestration for Film and TV from Berklee College of Music Online. In addition, he is a Fulbright scholar who recently completed his Master’s Degree in Screen Scoring at New York University, becoming the first person from Trinidad and Tobago to do so. With his qualifications and experience, Dike Samai is an ideal candidate to present on the topic of music in film. His experience in film scoring, orchestration, and arranging, combined with his extensive experience in the steelpan, allows him to provide unique insights into how the instrument can be used to enhance film scores.
