As a precursor to Jazz Artists on the Greens 2023, saxophonist Tony Paul premieres The Meet the Artists Live Concert Series. We honour the music and legacies of two of Trinidad and Tobago’s greatest composers. “KITCH: A Centenary Celebration”, in this the 100th anniversary of the Grandmaster’s birth, re-lives those calypsos that made us jump and prance, and had steelbands singing, Also “Ralph MacDonald’s Calypso Jazz and Caribbean Soul” allows us to recognise the global impact of this Trini-by-blood musician, composer and producer. A dual celebration of calypso jazz beginnings and its diaspora success.
